This gaming motherboard reportedly destroyed two AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs

One unlucky gamer has reported that their ASRock motherboard has fried not one, but two AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming CPUs. According to the report, despite already claiming a replacement CPU from AMD for the first burned-out 9800X3D, the gamer has now seen a second one fail using the same ASRock board.

Worryingly, it looks like this gamer was also running the recent ASRock motherboard BIOS update that the company believed fixed this issue. The 9800X3D is our favorite choice for gamers right now, topping our best gaming CPU list, but if you’re using it with an ASRock motherboard, you’ll want to make sure it’s up-to-date with the latest BIOS updates first.
