Ubisoft’s pirate-themed multiplayer game, Skull and Bones, has been delayed again. Originally expected in early 2023-2024, it’s now slated to release between January and March 2024. Additionally, another major Ubisoft game, potentially the much-talked-about Star Wars Outlaws, is postponed to sometime after March 31, 2024.

Despite these setbacks, Ubisoft is confident about its financial health. They’re strategically delaying these games to maximize their future earnings. They highlight the success of recent releases like Assassin’s Creed: Mirage and The Crew Motorfest as evidence of their strong performance.

Star Wars Outlaws is described as an open-world game with a Han Solo-like female protagonist, a robot sidekick, and an intergalactic heist plot. Skull and Bones, on the other hand, is a naval combat game that has been in development since 2013. There’s hope that this will be its final delay.

In other news, Ubisoft has reduced its workforce by over 1,000 people due to a combination of voluntary departures, layoffs, and unfilled positions. More details on this are expected in the future.
