New roguelike Raccoin takes an arcade favorite and gives it that Balatro magic

With the astonishing breakout success of Balatro, it’s no surprise that there’s plenty of games taking cues from its dopamine-inducing format of watching numbers ratchet into the billions and beyond. Newcomer Raccoin does it so well, and with such a smart core concept, however, that it’s earned the attention of Balatro publisher Playstack, which has teamed up with developer Doraccoon to bring it to Steam. It invokes one of the most iconic arcade machines of all time, the dastardly coin pusher, and I can already feel my brain starting to tingle.
