Frontier Developments has published its official “Countdown to Launch” post, confirming that Planet Zoo 2 launches today, 13 October 2026, at 3pm BST on all platforms. The post also provides a release-times map for each region and time zone, so players can check exactly when the zoo simulation sequel unlocks where they live. The 3pm BST start applies to every platform the game ships on.

The release builds on what the official Steam store page describes as the sequel to the zoo simulation game. Planet Zoo 2 introduces fully aquatic and flying species for the first time, alongside customisable Wildlife Reserves that let players shape habitats around the new arrivals. For keepers who want an expanded roster from day one, a Deluxe Edition adds 6 additional animal species. The game is copyrighted to Frontier Developments plc (2026).

Cloud gaming players join at the same moment as everyone else. The announcement confirms that Planet Zoo 2 will be available through NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW at the same time it launches on all other platforms, matching the 3pm BST start rather than arriving later.

Pre-orders are open now, with pre-loads available on Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, so anyone who has already committed can have the game downloaded and ready ahead of the unlock. Pre-orders also come with a timed extra: the pre-order Bonus Content Pack is included with all pre-orders until launch time.

The Bonus Content Pack unlocks an exclusive Toucan Eat Shop and Signage, 3 unique animal donation bins, and a Tiger Photo Stand-In Wall, giving new zoos some decorative touches at opening day. For players hunting exact unlock times, the countdown post’s release-times map covers each region and time zone, while the game’s Steam news feed carries an additional announcement hub post titled “Planet Zoo 2 | Release Timing!” for app 3219030. Between aquatic habitats, flying species and day-one GeForce NOW support, there is a lot for builders to plan when the gates open at 3pm BST.
