Two of PlayStation’s biggest PC releases have vanished from the Steam store in the United Kingdom, leaving UK players unable to purchase either title. Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition both disappeared from the storefront on September 16, with their store pages now displaying a message reading “This item is currently unavailable in your region.”
The delisting appears to have been unintentional. According to a report from Video Games Chronicle, a Sony spokesperson confirmed the company is aware of the issue and is already in contact with Valve to resolve it. “We are aware of an issue affecting the availability of select titles on Steam in the UK,” the spokesperson said. “We are working with Valve to address the issue. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
SteamDB data shows that the United Kingdom, Great Britain, and the Isle of Man were added to the purchase-restriction list for both games on September 16. UK players who already own either title can still access and play their existing copies through their Steam libraries, but new purchases and unowned DLC are blocked in the region.
The incident echoes a familiar pattern for PlayStation-published PC titles. Sony has previously restricted its Steam releases to countries where its PSN service operates, a practice that drew significant backlash when Helldivers 2 launched in 2024. That controversy ultimately forced Sony to drop the mandatory PSN account-linking requirement. More recently, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls faced similar regional restrictions before being adjusted.
The UK, notably, has always had active PSN support, which makes this particular delisting unusual and suggests a backend configuration error rather than a deliberate policy change. Neither game is affected in other major Steam markets, and both remain fully available on Steam in the United States and other regions.
For now, the community is waiting for Sony and Valve to restore the listings. Players in the UK who haven’t yet picked up either title should keep an eye on the Steam store pages for Helldivers 2 and Horizon Forbidden West — the resolution should come sooner rather than later.
