Phantom Blade Zero pre-load is now live on Steam. S-GAME’s official announcement confirms that downloading opens at 7:00 PM PDT on October 26, 2026 (02:00 UTC on October 27, 2026), giving PC players a head start ahead of the game’s October 29 release on PS5 and PC.
The timing matters for a game of this size. The studio asks PC players to install Phantom Blade Zero on an SSD, notes the download weighs in at approximately 145 GB, and recommends reserving at least 300 GB of free disk space to complete the pre-load process without trouble. S-GAME also urges players to update their graphics drivers before launch day, a sensible step for a Unreal Engine 5 action game built around fast, cinematic combat.
For the uninitiated, Phantom Blade Zero follows Soul, a warrior framed for murdering his master and left with just sixty-six days to live after a devastating wound to the heart. Wandering the Wulin alone and hunted, he works to unravel a conspiracy that has ensnared the martial world. The golden age of wuxia cinema collides with punk fantasy here: martial arts, cold steel, mechanical prosthetics, crumbling industrial ruins, and traditional Chinese aesthetics, all driven by modern rock music in what S-GAME calls kungfupunk.
Combat is the centerpiece. Players master over 30 primary weapons and more than 20 unique Phantom Edges taken from fallen foes, chaining combos rooted in real martial arts that are easy to learn yet rewarding to master. Dodge, deflect, counter, and strike in one seamless flow, where victory and defeat are decided in an instant, while hidden passages and intricate mechanisms reward those who push beyond each path’s end into the mysterious Phantom World.
The official Steam page lists Phantom Blade Zero (app 4115450) for Windows at $59.99 USD with full controller support and a Metacritic score of 88. Pre-purchasing unlocks the Treasure Basin accessory, which increases Remnant Dust drop rate by 10%, and the Legacy outfit early; both can also be earned through in-game progression.
With pre-load open and the October 29 launch closing in, the message from S-GAME is simple: ready your blade. Full details are in the official Steam announcement.
