LightSup! Brings Co-op Roguelite Dungeon Crawling to Tokyo Game Show 2026

Bugblio Studio and publisher Red Dunes Games are bringing their cooperative roguelite dungeon crawler LightSup! to Tokyo Game Show 2026 this week, setting up in Hall 7 at Booth N03 in Makuhari Messe. The Thai developer is showcasing a new trailer alongside playable builds for the 1–4 player co-op adventure, which is now targeting a Q1 2027 release across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

LightSup! drops players into the world of Lumineia, an eternally dark kingdom that fell under a mysterious eclipse. The core loop blends beat-em-up combat with roguelite progression: teams scramble through randomized dungeons, pray to the Altar of Light to stave off encroaching madness, and pick up Blessings that grant team-wide perks at the cost of shared Curses. Friendly fire, elite enemy spawns, and sanity-draining darkness create a risk-reward rhythm that shifts with every run.

The game has been in development since 2023, and Bugblio Studio says the year since its Tokyo Game Show 2025 appearance has been spent refining pacing, quality-of-life features, and overall polish. The result, according to founder Maythee Chauypoo, is a game designed around the kind of improvised shouting matches and clutch rescues that make local co-op memorable. Solo play is available, but the mechanics clearly push toward grouped chaos.

Dungeons branch into distinct areas like the Living Forest and Ruined Castle, each with its own visual identity and encounter design. Environmental storytelling rewards curious players — a cozy blacksmith room with no mechanical purpose tells a small story about who lived there before the darkness fell. Between runs, persistent upgrades unlock new characters, party buffs, and Nightmare Challenges that layer additional difficulty on top of the randomized layouts.

The TGS 2026 showcase comes after a busy year for the title, including a demo at the Thai Game Show earlier in 2026. LightSup! joins a crowded co-op roguelite space, but its emphasis on couch play and the Blessings-and-Curses tension system give it a distinct identity worth watching as it approaches its 2027 launch window.

LightSup! is available to wishlist now on Steam. You can follow Red Dunes Games and Bugblio Studio for further updates ahead of the Q1 2027 release.

Illustrated portrait of Dan Kowalski

Dan Kowalski reviews games by listening to what they do before believing what they promise. He cares about responsive combat, purposeful sound design, satisfying movement, and whether a game respects the player’s time. Dan will forgive technical roughness when the underlying experience is exceptional. He will forgive almost anything for a brilliant combat system—but never a tutorial that refuses to stop talking.
