Pearl Abyss has rolled out a sweeping update to Crimson Desert that transforms how players approach commerce in the open-world action RPG. Patch 1.16.00, now live on Steam, reworks the trading system from top to bottom with 133 new trading posts, 24 new high-value goods, and a host of quality-of-life improvements designed to make merchant runs more profitable and less tedious.
The headline change is the massive expansion of the trading network. Pearl Abyss has added 133 new trading posts across Pywel, including the Pailune Trading Post merchant. Many of these posts unlock only after completing related quests, giving exploration-focused players an incentive to dig deeper into the world. The developer has also introduced a dynamic pricing system: sell too much of one item at a single location and the price drops, encouraging players to diversify their routes and think strategically about supply and demand.
For those who enjoy optimizing profit margins, the patch rewards risk. Trading posts that are harder to reach by wagon now offer significantly higher returns. The developer has quadrupled trade good prices at royal trading posts, making long-haul deliveries a viable strategy for players who want to maximize their earnings. Packaged goods can now stack up to 10 or 100 units depending on their value, and even a single trade good can be sold — no more hoarding items just to meet minimum quantities.
The update also adds seven new wagon workshops spread across the map, each serving as an intermediate trading post where players can package and load trade goods. These workshops fill a practical gap in the trading loop, giving players staging points to restock and reorganize without trekking back to a major city. Wagon routes now appear on the minimap while riding, and a dedicated Trade tab has been added to the map with filters for finding specific goods and trading posts.
Banking receives attention too. The maximum number of gold bars that can be gained or lost through bank interest has been capped at 40, adding a layer of risk management to financial investments. Pearl Abyss has also introduced a Claim Bank Strongbox feature and a Bond Shop where players can exchange bonds for rare items.
