AION 2 has opened the gates of Atreia on Steam. NCSoft’s free-to-play MMORPG is now in Advanced Access for all Founder’s Pack owners, days ahead of the full launch on October 5. The publisher confirmed the moment in an official Steam announcement titled “Jump Into Advanced Access Now!”, telling players that “the skies have opened” and welcoming every pack holder into the game world.
Advanced Access lets Founder’s Pack owners start their journey before the free-to-play release. There is one final window for everyone else: NCSoft says October 5 at 8:00 AM PDT / 17:00 CEST is the last chance to pick up a Founder’s Pack, with purchases available on Steam or through the official Purple launcher. After that deadline, AION 2 opens its doors to all players at no cost.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, AION 2 is billed as the only MMORPG designed around aerial combat. The sequel rebuilds the original world at 36 times the scale, with flight serving as a core combat and exploration mechanic rather than simple travel. Players choose between the Elyos and Asmodian factions and fight for control of the Abyss across large-scale faction warfare, with verticality shaping every encounter.
The PvE lineup includes more than 200 dungeons spanning solo challenges, five-player party content, and ten-player group runs, backed by seasonal challenges and competitive rankings. Character creation offers over 200 customization options, and NCSoft highlights collectible wings, mounts, and outfits alongside the minigame roster of the Shugo Festival.
Launch notices now live on the official channel cover Advanced Access server matchmaking, the War for Atreia event, a launch FAQ, community launch events, and a new Creator Program for content creators. AION 2 runs on PC through Steam and the Purple launcher, and the store page lists achievements, cloud saves, and full controller support among its Steam features.
AION 2 is free to play, and Advanced Access is live right now for Founder’s Pack owners. Everyone else can enter Atreia when the MMORPG launches on October 5.
