After more than two years in Early Access, Enshrouded finally has its full-release date. Developer and publisher Keen Games has confirmed that the survival action RPG leaves Early Access with its 1.0 update on Thursday, October 15, 2026, launching simultaneously on Steam for PC and on PlayStation 5. An Xbox Series X|S version is planned to follow in spring 2027.
Enshrouded first entered Steam Early Access on January 24, 2024, and has since grown into one of the genre’s biggest success stories, with Keen Games reporting more than five million players. In its official release date reveal, the studio kept the message simple: the full game is coming October 15, with more details on improvements and new content to follow closer to launch.
What Is Changing in Enshrouded 1.0
The update is not just a version-number bump. In a recent official post detailing 1.0 combat changes, Keen Games outlined one of the largest magic overhauls the game has seen. Mages are getting nine new spells, including a new summon category that adds Fire, Ice, and Shock Totems alongside a Summon Hollow Skeleton spell, plus tools such as Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, and Ball Lightning. Wands are being reworked too, with a piercing heavy attack that interrupts weaker enemies and two new skills. Existing spells are also being extended with upgradeable Eternal versions that no longer consume spell ammo.
Performance is the other headline focus. Keen Games has said a major goal of 1.0 is making Enshrouded run better on lower- and mid-range systems, and has promised a longer list of quality-of-life changes, optimizations, and new content in its launch highlights and full changelog this month.
Price, Keys, and Where to Play
Enshrouded is currently listed on Steam at $39.99 USD, and the 1.0 update will be included for everyone who already owns the game. If you picked it up during Early Access on PC, there is nothing extra to buy: publisher Evolve PR has confirmed that existing Early Access PC keys will automatically convert to full launch keys with the updated content on release day.
