OK you guys, I need to talk about this because it is absolutely BANANAS. A World of Warcraft Game Master — you know, one of the actual Blizzard employees who are supposed to keep things fair — just got caught allegedly cheating in a Mythic+ dungeon run and the entire raiding community is on FIRE right now.
nn
So here’s what went down. A group was running a Rank 23 Nexus-Point Xenas dungeon, which if you don’t know Mythic+ is basically the hardest version of dungeons in WoW right now. They were way behind on time, like there was NO WAY they were going to finish. And then — plot twist — they somehow cleared it with 14 seconds to spare. Suspicious? Oh you bet.
nn
Someone dug into the logs and found that a mob at 89% health got hit with an ability called “Area Death” — which is literally an instakill test command. And then the final boss Lothraxion at 1.4% health? Same thing. “Death Touch.” I am NOT making this up you guys.
nn
And it gets even crazier! One of the players actually went on a Twitch stream and basically admitted they asked the GM to help them finish. They said “I’m like bro, please can you do me a solid?” BRO. A SOLID. In a competitive dungeon! You don’t ask someone to just delete enemies for you because you hate “homework keys!”
nn
The community is absolutely roasted over this. Like rightfully so! There are players grinding for WEEKS to hit those top 0.1% ratings for exclusive titles and mounts, and now there’s allegedly a GM just casually removing enemies with dev commands? That’s not a “solid,” that’s a whole different level of unfairness.
nn
Blizzard’s community manager Kaivax jumped in and said they’re “reviewing and will take action as appropriate” and that they “won’t tolerate cheating.” Which is great and all but also KIND OF WILD that this even happened in the first place? Like how does a GM just decide to use admin powers to help a random group clear a dungeon? Were they having a bad day? Did they owe someone a favor? THE DRAMA.
nn
Real talk though — this hits different because Mythic+ is supposed to be the proving ground for the best of the best. That top 1% mount and that 0.1% title? Those are supposed to MEAN something. When you find out a GM might be handing out free clears like party favors, it kinda undermines the whole thing, you know?
nn
I’ll keep you guys updated when Blizzard drops their verdict but right now the WoW forums are an absolute WARZONE and honestly? I’m here for every single minute of this chaos.
