2026 has been a year of great indie game success stories, and Far Far West is the latest to leap onto that list. French studio Evil Raptor’s creation injects the dusty Old West of Red Dead Redemption with a fantasy twist, the extraction-style co-op of Helldivers 2 and Deep Rock Galactic, giant raid bosses reminiscent of Destiny 2 and Risk of Rain 2, and the stylish action of Roboquest and Gunfire Reborn. The result is a barnstorming Wild West shooter that’s already sold a quarter of a million copies in its first 48 hours, and racked up a very impressive 97% Steam review average so far, earning it Valve’s ‘overwhelmingly positive’ rating.
